Salsa, Shyness, and Hooper's Store

On Saturday night we went to The Smith's for dinner. As per usual lately, Thaddy was a little on the shy side for the first 45 minutes or so. After that, he was running around, trying to open the stove, and terrorizing the cat.

On Sunday, we asked Thaddy what he wanted for lunch. He answered, "taco." "A taco?!" we asked, confused. "Taco. And sauce." I don't know where he got that idea into his head, but we decided what the hell - and off to Los Dos Hermanos we went (those people are GREAT - the owners are so nice and SO kid friendly!) We ordered Thaddy his taco, but before that came up, he decided to try the chips and salsa. He loved the salsa and was WAY into dipping.

I took today off, and what amazing planning - the weather was GORGEOUS! I took Thaddy downtown to take a walk this afternoon. He was sitting in the stroller as I was getting junk out of the car, kicking his little legs. Then, I noticed that he was mumbling something intently at me as he pointed at the building next to us.

"Mommy. MOMMY. Mppfdbf." What? "Mooofa" WHAT? "Mommy. HOOPER."

Suddenly, I realized we were right in front of the Bike Peddler, and the awning and outside of the building bares a striking resemblance to Hooper's Store (a Sesame Street landmark, in case you didn't know.) Thaddy LOVES Mr. Hooper and often requests to watch episodes with him in it. He thought we were right on Sesame Street. Now not only are we peeking into every single silver trash can looking for Oscar, we are strolling down Ses. St. itself. I love to see this kid imagine and grow! (And I am so excited to see him FREAK OUT when we go see Sesame Street live in May!!)
